On Sunday, July 16, 2023, Vera LeBlance celebrated her 101st birthday at the Ovation Jewish Home, 1414 N. Prospect Ave. Family and friends came from Atlanta, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Philadelphia, Texas, Virginia and Washington DC; fellow church members and her fellow North Central Service Club members (she has been a member of the NCSC since 1971), came out as well to help her celebrate her special birthday. Vera is called “Sunshine” because she brought some sunshine everywhere she went. Vera said, “This was the best day of my life, to see all my family, friends, church and club members, but most of all, my great-grandchildren.”
