On Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11, 2018, volunteers and organizations from all over Milwaukee gathered for the “3rd Annual Sleepover for Education,” at Pete’s Fruit Market, 2303 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. During the event volunteers collected school supplies for Milwaukee Public School students in need and camped out overnight on the street. This year’s event was sponsored by the City of Milwaukee, Pete’s Fruit Market, The Milwaukee Police Department 5th District officers, S.O.S., PCA, League of Martin, Tracy Dent, 6th District Alderwoman Milele Coggs, and State Senator Lena Taylor. This event was also part of the 6th Annual Bronzeville Week celebration.
