More than 125 women and girls from the community joined roughly 50 members of the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., for its first “Intergenerational Community Women’s Day” on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Epikos Church – Sherman Park, 3737 N. Sherman Blvd. Called “Women and Girls of Wisdom Growing in Grace,” this event included health screenings, laughing yoga, intergenerational hand massages, presentations on human trafficking, estate planning, sickle cell disease, a talkback session over lunch, and much more. Among those that presented were Dr. Yvonne Greer, DrPH, RD, CD of Y-EAT Right, who hosted a healthy cooking demonstration, assisted by nutritional wellness coach Cheron Copeland (bottom photo); and Gina Green-Harris, an organizer of the Intergenerational Women’s Day looks on as Dana World-Patterson of Foundations 4 Freedom talks about human trafficking (below photo).
