On Thursday, May 27, 2021 after school, the Kappa League members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc assisted the Sherman Park committee on reckless driving and the Grasslyn Manor residents to get the signs out for reckless driving around the city. They stapled more than 500 signs to be passed out to the community.
Alderman Khalif J. Rainey has formed the Sherman Park Committee on Reckless Driving. The Committee, which is comprised of leaders from the City and State DOT, business leaders, and residents, has been meeting for the last three months talking about what can be done to address reckless driving. The public will begin to see billboards encouraging drivers to slow down and bus tail ads with the same message. The alderman is working with the residents of Grasslyn Manor where the yard signs are being publicly displayed as a way to remind folks to slow down when driving in Sherman Park. Rainey believes that we all have to work together to stop what is ruining the quality of life in his district.
