Stacey McKay is a pharmacy manager with Walgreen Co.. Although there are not many Black pharmacy managers working for Walgreens in Milwaukee, she has been one for 25 years and finds her job very rewarding. Stacey is in charge of the entire pharmacy and also assists customers.
Stacey attributes her success to having great parents who encouraged her to get a good education. Although her father is deceased, both parents helped to shape who she is today. Her mother has a master’s degree in teaching and is still a teacher at Holy Redeemer School at age 85.
Stacey graduated from Madison University High School, formerly known as James Madison High School in 1978. Stacey attended and graduated from Bernie Robbins School of Real Estate and earned a broker’s license in the 1980s. Selling real estate was not Stacey’s forte. At the suggestion of her brother, Stacey decided to enroll in UW-Madison School of Pharmacy and she graduated in 1985, with a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy. She also attended Concordia University and in 2009, graduated with a master’s degree in business administration. She is a member of the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.

As parents, the McKays have always encouraged their sons to do their best. Nicholas is very interested in the health fi eld and his brother is majoring in accounting. Both attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and work at Walgreens.
