Tour Historic Central Library

Tour the Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave., with the Friends. Free tours begin at 11 a.m. each Saturday

afternoon in the rotunda. Tour goers receive a coupon for a free book at the end of the tour in the Bookseller

Store and Café. To arrange for a special tour call (414) 286-TOUR.

LIBRARY LOUD DAYS SPECIAL EVENT

Haunted Central

On Sunday, October 23, 1-5 p.m. at the Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave., we’re turning the library into

one giant haunted house for all ages. There will be “haunted-themed” activities throughout. And of course, the

main attraction, the truly haunted part, is an actual part of the library no one ever sets foot in. And for good

reason. We call it, the Forbidden Fourth Floor. Enter, if you dare!

EVENTS

Spotlight Exhibit Series

The Spotlight Exhibit Series will showcase rotating exhibits from the Milwaukee Public Library’s Rarities

Collection at Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave., Tuesday, October 25, 12-7 p.m. in the Richard E. and

Lucile Krug Rare Books Room. Stop in to view the reception room and enjoy a self-guided tour of prints,

posters, illuminated manuscripts, and other treasures not normally on display to the public.

Book to Art Club

Engage with popular literature in a hands-on, imaginative way at the East Branch, 2320 N. Cramer St., Tuesday,

October 25, 6-7 p.m. Each month the Book to Art Club will read a selected novel then work on an art project

inspired by the story. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please register online or by calling Ready

Reference at 286-3011. Registration will open the day of the previous month’s program.

Meet the Author: Chad Lewis

Join author Chad Lewis for a look into some of the haunting mysteries documented throughout Wisconsin at

Bay View Library, 2566 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., Tuesday, October 25, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Lewis is the author of

Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations, Hidden Headlines of Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Road Guide to

Mysterious Creatures.

Learn how to set up your iPad, Kindle, Nook or tablet to download free eBooks, audiobooks and magazines

available to you as a Milwaukee Public Library card holder. Please bring your Milwaukee Public Library card

What You Can Do About Climate Change

Citizens Climate Lobby inspires its membership through three precepts: Focus on a single legislative proposal,

support and enthusiasm for volunteers, and a culture of respect and bi-partisanship. CCL Milwaukee chapter

volunteers will talk about how to build political will for a livable world at the Tippecanoe Branch, 3912 S.

Skeins of Milwaukee

Bring your needles and/or hooks, your yarn and your enthusiasm to share and learn with others who knit and
