Mary Belle Reed was born on July 28, 1941, to the union
of Charles and Aslee (nee Redmond) Malone in the rural area of
Pickens, in Holmes County, Mississippi. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age, and joined Mount Zion Baptist Church in Pickens, Mississippi.
