On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, the Wisconsin Historical Society launched their campaign for a new Wisconsin History Museum at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society, 2620 W. Center St. The new Madison based museum will be a state-of-the-art show space to house the extensive collection the Society has. The Wisconsin Historical Society values building relationships with all communities in order to integrate authentic perspectives from diverse populations into the new museum. The Historical Society wants to reflect all communities here in Wisconsin that make it a great place to live. As part of the campaign launch, five of the original chairs from St. Matthew C.M.E. Church were donated to the Historical Society.
