The Cream City (WI) Chapter and the Milwaukee Chapter of the Links, Incorporated held its inaugural nationwide “Black Family Wellness Expo” on March 18, 2024, in an effort to reduce health disparities and save black lives. This effort in Milwaukee is aimed at addressing multiple health, educational, and economic disparities that negatively impact the health and quality of life for many in this community. These disparate health issues include maternal and infant mortality, high blood pressure, breast and prostate cancers, chronic kidney disease, and heart disease.
The local event is a part of a nationwide effort by The Links, Incorporated during the month of March, which aims to leverage its entire membership in the effort to improve outcomes for black families. The local chapter of The Links, Incorporated held their event at the Milwaukee Academy of Science, located at 2000 W. Kilbourn Ave.
