The life and work of local artist Welford George Sanders remembered
King Drive Commons Gallery and Studio, located on Hadley and MLKing Drive, presented their monthly Gallery Night and Day on Friday, July 24, 2015. This evening event celebrated and reflected on the life of the late Welford George Sanders(inset). Sanders served as the executive director of Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation, Board President of Growing Power, Inc., and an adjunct professor with the UWMilwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning. Sanders passed away in the spring of 2015. Sanders was a strong advocate for economic development and minority entrepreneurship. Our community will miss your leadership…. A man with a vision.
