On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Parklawn Assembly of God, 3725 N. Sherman Blvd., hosted the Milwaukee Career and Employment Summit. During this uneven recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, job seekers are in high demand by local employers. Yet many job seekers with barriers to employment still are finding it difficult to find a good job with a pathway to a solid career. The Milwaukee Career and Employment Summit, aimed to connect job seekers with up to 30 employers with immediate job openings, as well as provide resources and presentations on removing those obstacles that hinder career development.
“Barriers are like speed bumps; they may slow you down but they shouldn’t stop your journey towards success.” said Kevin Freeman, Project Manager, Ezekiel Community Development Corporation. As part of the event a free lunch was served and drawings for gift cards were held.
