On Saturday, October 23, 2021, the Milwaukee Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (MAARPR) along with County Supervisor Priscilla Cogg-Jones and a number of other local leaders were proud to officially unveil the new sign for the newly renamed Lucille Berrien Park, 3629 N. 16th St. The park which was originally named Lindbergh Park after aviator Charles Lindbergh, changed names after MAARPR circulated a petition to honor founder and community activist Lucille Berrien back in April. In June the Milwaukee County Board of Directors passed a resolution officially renaming a park after the longtime Milwaukee activist. During the event, Berrien was presented with several resolutions and citations from county, city and state officials for her tireless work.
