In 2017, Brenda Wilkerson from North Division High School and Warren McIver from Rufus King High School got together and talked about the low turnout from their 40th individual class reunions. They discussed trying a combined class reunion and making it a Grand Celebration. Each took the idea back to their individual committees. Brenda and Warren got their committees’ consent for a joint class reunion for both schools which had never been done before. North and Rufus King’s first meeting was held in January 2018. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were not able to have the joint reunion until recently, when they were able to have a three-day joint cerebration July 15, 16 and 17, 2022. “North and Rufus King’s 50 Year Class Reunion” celebration exceeded everyone’s expectations.
