On Friday September 16, 2022, Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 1717 W. Meinecke Ave. and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture held a class on Modern Architecture by Black Architects, which featured works by Alonzo Robinson, the first black architect in the state of Wisconsin. The class was attended by students and instructors from Milwaukee and Chicago. The students used laser scanners to view the work that was done by hand drawing of Alonzo Robinson and it showed how Robinson used modern architecture in his work when designing churches all around the city of Milwaukee. He would design the buildings so that they would blend in with the existing neighborhood.
