Reading can be fun! And on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 Milwaukee Urban League (MUL) President and CEO Dr. Eve M. Hall and MUL staff celebrated national “Read Across America Day 2022,” at Auer Avenue Elementary School, 2319 W. Auer Ave. Dr. Hall read the book ‘The Fintastic Fishsitter’ by Mo O’Hara to 3rd grade students, and did a question and answer session with the students, asking them what they liked about the book. On Read Across America Day, volunteers dedicate themselves to helping each new generation of readers and thinkers become the leaders who will write a more hopeful chapter in the American narrative and in the story of our shared world. Volunteers spend the day reading to students at local schools or working on reading related projects. The Urban League has partnered with Auer Ave. School through the Community Schools Partnership program to help improve learning and the lives of the students there.
