Milwaukee Times receives honor as part of ‘Bronzeville Week’

Lynda Jackson Conyers, publisher of The Milwaukee Times, received a Historic King Drive BID No. 8 “Innovative Enterprise Award” during a Bronzeville Cultural and Arts Festival- sponsored business breakfast titled “Attracting Business to Bronzeville” at the Skybox Sports Bar & Grill on August 7, 2018.
In connection with strategic planning conducted in 2011, the Historic King Drive BID No. 8 Board of Directors identified a vision to create “an attractive, accessible, safe district where businesses prosper and share a sense of pride in the community… including promoting “leadership that is born from experience and pride in a community that is diverse and culturally rich.”
The award, which recognized the “longevity and pioneering nature of your business in revitalizing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive for over 30 years,” was presented by King Drive, Visit Milwaukee, Bronzeville and Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs (6th District) and Historic King Drive BID#8 Executive Director Deshea Agee
