On Sunday, August 18, 2024, the Milwaukee Brewers paid tribute to the 1923 Milwaukee Bears and the rich history of the Negro Leagues with the Annual Negro Leagues Tribute Game (NLTG). A pre-game ceremony honored the impact of the Negro Leagues with a meaningful “Pass the Bat” ceremony (top photo, from left) with Dennis Biddle, Larry Hisle, Blake Perkins and RBI Athlete Matthew Duncan. The “Barrier Breakers” traveling exhibit, was on loan from the Negro League Museum. The exhibit will be housed at American Family Field from August 16 – 25 and explores the connections of African American baseball history to Hispanic cultures, communities and countries.
