Masks are back on Milwaukee County buses. The county announced the mandate on Friday, October 14, 2022, after the COVID-19 community level rose back into the “medium” category from “low.”
On Sept. 30, the county had announced that masks would be optional.
In a statement, Milwaukee County said “Milwaukee County and MCTS will continue to provide guidance as COVID-19 rates remain fluid. MCTS supplies masks on buses and asks riders to practice safe riding habits and respect fellow passengers.”
The mask mandate went into effect immediately. The city of Milwaukee also announced that the COVID-19 community level had risen back into the “medium” level.
