Local charities team up to make sure Milwaukee children continue reading this summer
On Saturday, July 25, 2015 William E. Hall (back row, left) from “Acts of Love,” a Chicago based organization, partnered with Monte Mabra (back row, center) of “Voice of A Fatherless Child” and Dee McCollim (back row, right) director of the King Center to donate books to children at the center. The donation was part of Acts of Love’s national 12 city tour to give away books to children in underserved communities all across the country, in order to promote healthy reading skills. Acts of Love is looking to give out 12,000 books this summer and so far has given out 3,251 books; 1009 of them were right here in Milwaukee.
