Walker said the grant “sends a signal that reading is important, which will make teachers even better teachers.” The Central City Cyberschool is an independent public charter school of Milwaukee, which was chartered by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee in 1999. The school currently has an enrollment of 420 students comprised of four-year-old kindergarten through the eighth grade. The student body comes from the Parklawn neighborhood, which reflects the character of the community. Not a single child is bused. The vision of the school is to bring technology and a learning environment to a community where few residents have access to technology. Gov.
