On Sunday, June 24, 2018, Interim City of Milwaukee Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia McManus was honored for her work within the community for ending health disparities with both the Black Health Coalition and with her position as city Health Commissioner with “Flowers While You Live.” Dr. Mc- Manus was serenaded by jazz saxophonist James Dallas and with poetry by Gat Turner, Melisa Lue, and Ajamou Butler. The event was hosted by Student Minister William Muhammad and held at the African American Women’s Center, 3020 W.
