City of Milwaukee celebrated 176th birthday as a ‘City of Champions’

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, the Milwaukee Press Club and the City of Milwaukee were joined by local leaders, community advocates and many others to help celebrate the City of Milwaukee’s 176th birthday at the Grain Exchange, 225 E Michigan St. Locally, Milwaukeeans have always known we’re a City of Champions; the Bucks helped make it known nationally and internationally. But our champion status extends beyond the basketball court and Twitter (where our city was voted the best in America). Our unsung champions are our essential workers, first responders, public health and medical experts, teachers, media repesentatives and many more who have provided critical care and important information to our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
