On Sunday, May 11, 2025, Barbara Goodman celebrated a very special Mother’s Day when she was reunited with her biological siblings including brother Kenneth Morse; and sisters Debra Brister and Jacqueline Blackwell.

The Mother’s Day reunion began a few years earlier during Thanksgiving, when in conversations with her granddaughter, LaToya Goodman, Barbara revealed that she was adopted by her biological uncle, Norman. Intrigued, LaToya decided to dig deeper into the family history. Armed with notes from her conversion with her grandmother, LaToya found several clues which would eventually lead her to her grandmother’s biological siblings. LaToya would eventually make the phone call to one her grandmother’s sisters. After a brief conversation LaToya knew she found one of her grandmother’s siblings. After giving her grandmother the phone number, Barbara and the two estranged siblings began to form a bond. Barbara Goodman celebrates a very special Mother’s Day reunion It wasn’t too long before her sisters and brother decided to make the trip from Pittsburgh and Chicago to Milwaukee for Mother’s Day weekend, turning it into an unforgettable experience.

According to LaToya, “Watching my grandma reunite with her siblings was pure magic. They shared laughter, old stories, and met all my grandma’s children and grandchildren. It was a beautiful experience seeing them connect after so many years apart and realizing that family ties ran deeper than we often understood,” she said.
