102 year-old WWII vet honors his fellow soldiers for Memorial Day

On Monday, May 29, 2023, at age 102, World War II veteran and former Army PFC Vernon C. Townsend saluted and honored his fellow veterans for Memorial Day. Townsend enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 2, 1942 at Camp Shelby, MS. His service awards included a Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, and World War II Victory Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on February 1, 1946.
