South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center presents ARTRAGEOUS

August 29, 2019

Interactive art and music experience opens Saturday, September 21, at 7:30 p.m.

South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center is proud to present ARTRAGEOUS, an interactive art and music experience where large-scale “masterpiece” paintings are created live on stage while musicians, singers and dancers entertain and engage the audience. “We chose ARTRAGEOUS for our season opener this year because we’re celebrating 15 years of performing arts in our community, and this energetic and visually stunning show will appeal to people of all ages,” said Rachel Sorce, Executive Director. Patrons should plan to arrive early so they can attend an Art Social starting at 6:00 pm, featuring food from Skyline Catering & Express Deli. Attendees are encouraged to bring a plain t-shirt, pillowcase, or other item to have splattered on stage following the show creating a one-of-a-kind art souvenir. Some of the large-scale paintings will be auctioned off at the end of the night with proceeds benefiting the South Milwaukee School District.

ARTRAGEOUS features an interactive approach that appeals to all ages. Imagine an artist creating a masterpiece before your eyes in mere moments. With a palette that also mixes captivating vocals, intricate choreography and exciting audience interaction, ARTRAGEOUS takes you on a unique visual journey packed with wild inspiration, creativity and fun!

As a music and arts community based in the High Desert of New Mexico, they believe in bringing people together through the power and passion of the arts. Their finished products are in private and public collections around the world, not to mention that paintings created during their shows are donated to charitable causes; in fact we will be auctioning off paintings at this event to benefit the arts. The ARTRAGEOUS troupe of artists, musicians, singers and dancers pay tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons and musical genres culminating in a gallery of fabulous finished paintings. Using both hands and brushes, artists utilize bold colors as they race to complete these paintings before the last note. This results in a one-of-a-kind crossover experience! The signature of ARTRAGEOUS is interaction and engagement. Part art studio. Part rock concert. Part creation lab. Come be a part of the show!
