Milwaukee’s spirit of service and community was on full display on Monday, November 10, 2025, as an upcoming community organization, Mindful Mondays MKE hosted a powerful professional development networking event honoring three distinguished Black female veterans: Dr. Berdie L. Cowser, Dr. Jada Reynolds, and Tiffany Koehler. Held at Greenwood Park Gallery and Framing, located at 4233 W. Fond du Lac Ave. in Milwaukee, Wi.Theevening celebrated leadership, resilience, and the ongoing contributions of women who have served their country and continue to serve their communities.
In an inspiring turn of events, the day after the gathering, Dr. Berdie L. Cowser received statewide recognition from Governor Tony Evers as the inaugural recipient of the 2025 Anna Mae Robertson Award. A well-deserved honor highlighting her lasting impact and unwavering dedication.
A Growing Movement Rooted in Education and Empowerment
Mindful Mondays MKE has been steadily reshaping how community development happens in Milwaukee. By placing education at the forefront, the organization continues to bring industry specialists directly into the heart of the city; creating access, awareness, and pathways for economic mobility.
Over the past year, the platform has facilitated conversations on real estate development, AI and emerging technologies, skilled trades, entrepreneurship, professional services, and other fields vital to building generational wealth. Each event provides practical tools, mentorship opportunities, and open dialogue to help residents unlock new possibilities while strengthening community ties.
Support That Makes the Mission Possible
The evening’s success was made possible with the support of Great Lakes Dryhootch Milwaukee, the event’s premier sponsor, whose commitment to veterans and community wellness continues to uplift countless families across the region.
Local leadership also showed strong support, including Congresswoman Gwen Moore, Alderwoman Laressa Taylor, and County Supervisor Dr. Willie Johnson, among others. Their presence underscored a shared dedication to ensuring Milwaukee residents have access to resources, information, and opportunities that help communities thrive.
A Call to Action: Join the Movement
Mindful Mondays MKE continues to grow because of the people who believe in its mission. People who give their time, energy, and resources to make sure collaboration triumphs over the “crabs in a barrel” mentality that too often limits progress.
As the organization prepares for its next season of programming, community members are invited to stand with them in this work. Whether through volunteer hours, professional expertise, or financial support, every contribution helps expand access to life-changing resources for Milwaukee’s underserved neighborhoods.
