Milwaukee Honors Hank Aaron’s Legacy with New Mural, Hank Aaron Day Proclamation

On Monday, July 20, 2026, fifty years after Hank Aaron hit his historic 755th, on July 20, 1976, and final career home run in Milwaukee, community leaders, Brewers officials and Aaron’s family gathered Monday to unveil a new mural celebrating his lasting impact on baseball and the city.
The mural, located at the Clinton Rose Senior Center at 3045 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive, commemorates Aaron’s record-breaking achievement while recognizing his legacy of perseverance, leadership and service beyond the game.
On hand at the celebration was Commissioner Emeritus Bud Selig reflecting on Aaron’s impact both on and off the field; the late Hank Aaron’s wife Billye Aaron; mural artist Gerald “Moolah Bred” Williamson Jr.; and Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson who proclaimed Monday, July 20, 2026, to be, “Henry Lewis, Hank Aaron Day throughout the City of Milwaukee.” Henry “Hank” Aaron died in 2021 and held that home run record for more than 30 years.
