He was called the “Merchant of Venom,” but for those who knew him, Don Rickles was truly a nice guy. The comic legend who died today at 90 was generous and a strong advocate for the arts far beyond the showrooms of Las Vegas. A few months back, Rickles performed at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and took some time before his show to go on camera and wish the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) a happy 50th anniversary. The video link is below. Don brought joy and laughter to millions and was a true comedic original. He will be missed.
