On Monday, January 19, 2026, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Epsilon Kappa Omega Chapter honored the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by volunteering with two local nonprofit organizations. Under the leadership of Chapter Vice President Jemina Johnson and Member Michelle Crockett, the annual MLK Day of Service mobilized over 75 members across Milwaukee.
This year’s “We Are One” day of service focused on meeting the immediate needs of the local community. Epsilon Kappa Omega partnered with Repairers of the Breach, a daytime shelter for unhoused individuals, where members served meals, assembled care kits, and distributed warm clothing to neighbors experiencing housing insecurity. This is the chapter’s twenty-third year of partnership with Repairers of the Breach.
In support of families, Epsilon Kappa Omega also collaborated with the Milwaukee Diaper Mission to provide diapers and wipes to new parents and feminine hygiene products to individuals in need. The initiative reinforced the chapter’s commitment to ensuring all community members have access to basic needs and promoting healthy beginnings for Milwaukee’s children.
