Sign up for free summer learning camps

May 23, 2019

Summer will be here before we know it! Sign up now for fun summer learning through MPS partners: Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, Discovery World, Girl Scouts, Hawthorn Glen, Milwaukee Community Sailing Center, Milwaukee County Zoo, Urban Ecology, Wehr Nature Center, and Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.

Students can spend their summer learning to sail, building robots, hiking in nature, meeting zoo animals, learning to play music, exploring the earth, and experimenting with technology. Camps are so much fun that students won’t even realize they are learning!

Summer enrichment camps are free for MPS students in grades K4 to 12. Priority registration will be given to students enrolled in MPS; other Milwaukee residents may be enrolled as space permits. Space is limited, and spots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis as completed registration packets are received.

Some camps require a bag lunch and appropriate dress for outdoor activities. Parents may need to provide transportation to and from some locations; read program descriptions for details.

Enrollment packets are available on the MPS website and must be submitted to the Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) office at MPS Central Services. Information and registration forms can be found on the MPS Enrichment Camps web page or at mpsmke.com/elo by clicking on Enrichment Camps.

Space is still available in the Summer Academy June Session and July Session; information is on the ELO page or on the MPS Summer Academy page.

Parents must complete all pages of the enrollment packet for the selected camp. Forms may be scanned and emailed to elo@milwaukee. k12.wi.us OR paper forms may be returned to the Extended Learning Opportunities office by mailing or dropping off at:

MPS ELO Office
Central Services Room 150
5225 W. Vliet St.
Milwaukee, WI 53208

For additional questions or information, contact Extended Learning Opportunities at 414-475-8238.
