Farrakhan’s speech was ‘most realistic conversation’ he has had with youth

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam, spoke to an audience of 500 youth aged 12-19 on August 12 at Fresh Start Counseling Center, Inc., 1720 W Florist Ave. Many of the youth did not know who Minister Farrakhan was before he began a lecture that lasted more than two hours. According to observers, the youth were on the edge of their seats, engaged and attentive, the entire time. One observer noted that the lecture by Minister Farrakhan was perhaps one of the most realistic conversations many of the youth had ever had. Minister Farrakhan’s message included emphasis on the importance of black history, respecting women and each other. People need to look at each other as a reflection of God, Minister Farrakhan said, adding that the killing of our people by our people must stop.
