Dr. Janice Pugh, of the Starms Discovery Elementary School, was honored at the 30th Annual Black Excellence Awards Program on Friday, February 27, 2015. Dr. Pugh is regarded as a highly qualified, committed, and creative educator. She was nominated by several community leaders. Dr. Pugh, a native of Milwaukee, is determined to instill the love of learning and courage to dream in her students. Dr. Pugh began her teaching career in 2000. She is involved in a number of community educational projects.
