Families and neighbors in the 53206 ZIP code are invited to attend the Milwaukee Public Schools Our Lights Are On Community Event on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Explore Milwaukee Public Schools programs and learn about jobs in the district. Meet your neighbors and local businesses! Childcare and activities will be available for school-age children. Every attendee will receive a free hot dog, chips, and a drink.
Families can meet staff from MPS schools in the 53206 ZIP code and learn about MPS offerings:
• Head Start and early childhood programs
• Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs
• College and career preparation
• After-school and recreation programs
• School services including counseling, psychologists, social workers, and more
In addition, attendees will:
• Discover employment options in MPS
• Tour the GE Innovation Lab inside Douglas Middle School
• Find neighborhood partners and services in 53206
• Have access to free athome COVID-19 test kits, while supplies last
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines will be available for children and adults from Health Connections Inc.
