The 13th Annual Reverend James Spann II Scholarship Luncheon was held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Ramada City Centre. Five high school seniors were presented scholarships from the Spann family. The Spann scholarship fund was established by Dr. Wilma Spann the widow of Reverend James Spann II. Dr. Spann is a retired Milwaukee Public Schools administrator. Reverend James Spann II was pastor of Corinth Baptist Church at the time of his death in January, 2001. Spann dedicated his life to helping students with their academic goals. Spann’s wife and children continue his ministry through scholarships. Pictured are Kailynn Montogmery, Donavon Nathaniel, Kyril Rand, Nakherra Jackson, Courtney Menifield, Dr. Spann and Mayor Tom Barrett. The banquet speaker was Elizabeth M. Coggs (insert), Executive Director of Career Youth Development.
