Some of us saw this coming. We raised concerns, we asked questions, and yet, here we are. The decisions being made at the highest levels of government are reshaping the very foundation of our democracy. And now, those same forces have their sights set on Wisconsin.
Let’s talk about what’s happening.
During the recent ABC News Presidential Debate, former President Donald Trump stated:
“I have nothing to do with Project 2025. I haven’t read it. I don’t want to read it purposely. I’m not going to read it.”
Yet, many of the actions we see unfolding today align closely with that very agenda. Across the country, we’re witnessing major shifts—federal employees being dismissed, critical programs under threat, and key leadership positions being filled by individuals with little experience but strong ideological ties.
Now, Wisconsin is at a crossroads.
Why the Wisconsin Supreme Court race matters
On April 1st, 2025, voters in Wisconsin will decide the future direction of our state’s highest court. The outcome will have far-reaching implications for voting rights, workers’ protections, healthcare, and the balance of power in our state.
One of the key players investing heavily in this race is billionaire Elon Musk. His allies have made it clear that electing Brad Schimel to the Wisconsin Supreme Court is essential to advancing their broader agenda—one that aligns with efforts to limit government oversight, reduce social safety nets, and consolidate power.
This isn’t speculation. These are the policies being actively pursued:
• Cuts to Medicaid, Social Security, and Medicare – Programs that millions have paid into and rely on.
• Reductions in education funding – Limiting opportunities for students across Wisconsin.
• Threats to healthcare access – Including BadgerCare and other critical services.
• Job cuts for federal and public workers – Impacting air safety, veterans’ services, and public lands.
The justification for these cuts? To finance tax breaks that overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest individuals and corporations.
The power of your vote
Misinformation is everywhere, and it’s easy to get caught up in divisive rhetoric. But here’s the truth: The policies being enacted today will affect all of us, regardless of political affiliation. The stakes are real, and the consequences will be felt in our communities, our schools, and our healthcare systems.
This is about more than politics—it’s about ensuring that Wisconsin remains a place where fairness, opportunity, and justice guide our future.
So, what can we do?
• Stay informed – Learn about the candidates and what they stand for.
• Have conversations – Engage with family and friends about why this election matters.
• Make a plan to vote – Every vote counts, and Wisconsin’s future is in our hands.
