On Thursday, March 26, 2016 the legendary Roselette Dancers celebrated their 25th anniversary at the Clinton and Bernice Rose Center. The Roselette Dancers were formed in 1991 by Fannie Dunlap and 20 other women ages 50+ who were enjoying the facilities at the Clinton & Bernice Rose Senior Center, 3045 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Dr.
All that the women wanted to do was dance for fun and later for performance. The same desire remains within the members of the Roselettes today. The Roselettes have designed their own dances and coordinated other hip party dances to properly fit their image. All the dances allow the Roselette Dancers to perform as one unit of mature, elegant line dancers.
Each year The Roselette Dancers present their annual show in June; this year’s show is to be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. The audience is treated to a full repertoire of the group’s dances. The Roselettes are always adding and dropping dances routines, but a couple of original dances, like the Lucille Slide and Tender Moments, still remain today.
