On Saturday, May 16, 2026, residents, families, youth, and community leaders in the Amani Neighborhood came together for a neighborhood cleanup and community barbecue. the effort was focused on unity, pride, and positive change across Milwaukee. Armed with rakes, trash bags, and determination, volunteers spent the day cleaning streets, beautifying blocks, and showing what can happen when a community works together. Jevoni “Jbilla” Rhodes and his wife Anita, were the host of this community cleanup and did an outstanding job organizing.
The event highlighted the importance of neighborhood involvement and encouraged residents to continue building safer, cleaner, and stronger communities for future generations. Children and adults worked side-by-side throughout the day, creating an atmosphere filled with teamwork, positivity, and hope. The motivational message of the day was “Together We Rise. Together We Thrive.”
The cleanup also served as a reminder that real change starts at one block, one family, and one act of service at a time.
