Area men stand together to welcome students back-to-school

September 9, 2016

ame-9-9

Representatives from St. Mark A.M.E. Church and the Prince Hall Scottish Rite Masons gathered at Keefe Avenue School, 1615 W. Keefe Ave., to welcome back and encourage the returning and incoming students at Keefe Avenue school. The event was held to show the community at-large a positive face of Milwaukee’s African American community and to let the students and community know there are men who are here to support them; who want to help make their neighborhoods safe; and to let the faith community know it’s critical to move outside the walls of the church.
