Milwaukee Community Journal Awards Local Students Scholarships as part of 50th Anniversary Celebration

On August 2, 2026, the Milwaukee Community Journal (MCJ) commemorated its 50th Anniversary at its Annual Scholarship Jazz Brunch, at the Italian Community Center, featuring historic exhibits and honoring individuals who represent Milwaukee’s past, present, and future. As part of it’s celebration the MCJ along with the Dr. Terence N. Thomas Scholarship Fund honored fifteen students with scholarships of $2,000 each. Over the past 50 years MCJ has awarded more than one million dollars in scholarships to deserving students pursuing higher education.
The MCJ and the Dr. Terence N. Thomas Scholarship Fund will continue its long-standing commitment to youth by awarding $30,000 in scholarships to fifteen students pursuing higher education.
For five decades MCJ has celebrated the achievements of Milwaukeeans, documented local events that echoed onto national stages, and remained firmly committed to informing inspiring, and elevating the community it serves.
