America’s Black Holocaust Museum Announces 2026 Dr. James Cameron Founder’s Day Celebration

America’s Black Holocaust Museum (ABHM) is proud to announce the return of
its Dr. James Cameron Founder’s Day Celebration, a two-day observance and fundraiser dedicated to honoring the
life, courage, and enduring legacy of Dr. James Cameron — a lynching survivor, historian, museum founder, and
profound advocate for truth, justice, and racial healing.

Held February 20–21, 2026, this year’s theme—Love in Action: Remembering the Legacy of Dr. James Cameron—
invites Milwaukee community residents, regional and national partners to engage in transformative storytelling,
reflection, and community dialogue. Through Dr. Cameron’s example, the celebration will uplift the urgent call to
live our values courageously and cultivate justice, reconciliation, and education within our communities. Both
celebration days will take place at the America’s Black Holocaust Museum, located at 401 W. North Avenue
Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53212.
Guests can look forward to:

  • Meaningful storytelling centered on Dr. Cameron’s life and mission
  • Intergenerational conversations on truth, healing, and advocacy
  • Ceremonial reflections and opportunities for community recommitment and engagement
  • A renewed honoring of the institution Dr. Cameron founded to preserve Black history and advance racial
    understanding

The museum welcomes community leaders, educators, faith communities, advocates, and residents to join this
revival of a treasured Milwaukee tradition. The celebration will offer compelling moments, interviews, and visual
storytelling opportunities.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us at America’s Black Holocaust Museum as we uplift Dr. Cameron’s journey
and recommit ourselves to the work he began.

More details, speaker announcements, and registration information will be released soon.
