On Thursday, November 13, 2025, a gathering of community leaders came together for a private welcome reception for the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s (UWM) new Chancellor, Dr. Thomas “Tom” Gibson and his family at UWM’s Golda Meir Library. Hosted by UWM Regents Dr. Joan Prince and Angela Adams, the gathering was a personal welcome to the greater Milwaukee area to the new leader of UWM and his family. Dr. Gibson who officially took charge of the institution in July, was presented proclamations from the Mayor and County Executives while his wife and daughter received welcome gifts.
