On Sunday, October 9, 2016, 100 White Dresses held
its completion ceremony at Destiny Plaza, 7220 N.
76th St. Twelve girls completed and were honored
out of 110 participants. The organization’s founder,
Regina Slocum-Mabra, was acknowledged by
State Senator Lena Taylor for her work with the
young women of our community. Keynoter Medical
College of Wisconsin and Black Child Development
Institute Milwaukee Ashley Hines spoke
about being grounded and not being afraid to seek
help. Beverly Taylor, of Fox 6 News, and April
Bentley, author of “Don’t Rush to Get Old,” were
