On Monday, July 1, 2024, family and friends (top photo) gathered at the Milwaukee Elks Lodge, 5555 W. Good Hope Rd., for a special memorial service for the late Anthony “Tony” Fikes. Tony was a man of faith, attending church services in Milwaukee and Indianapolis. He found solace in gospel and Christian music, particularly the song “I Won’t Complain”, which reflected his positive outlook and gratitude for God’s blessings.
Affectionately known as “Dad” to all, Tony leaves behind a profound legacy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched through his service and kindness. We’re going to miss his laughter, dancing, jokes, life stories, lessons, and advice, along with his Super Bowl and 4th of July parties, his great tasting food and, of course, his famous peach cobbler (his son Steven, has already promised to keep that legacy alive—though he’ll need a few more years of practice to be just like Dad’s).
Pictured are Tony’s children (bottom photo, standing from left) Steven Fikes, Ray Anthony Fikes, Michael Fikes, Shamon Harrell; (seated, from left) Monique Fikes-Jones, Patrice Eldridge Fikes, Marquita Edward, and Erika Humphrey.
