Malik Obu Reid was born on October 4, 1970 to the union of Odis R. Reid and Linda D. Witherspoon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He accepted Christ as his savior at the age of five and united with Christ Presbyterian Church. Malik received his formal education at Romeoville High School in Romeoville, Illinois.
