On August 24, 2019, Working to Inspire, Nurture and Growing for Service (W.I.N.G.S.) International hosted their annual “Peace Rally Picnic,” at Lindbergh Park, 3629 North 16th St. The event included free food, face painting, free book bags filled with school supplies, jump houses, the reading of the “Wall of Pain” and the “Jericho Walk of Faith.” The annual rally and picnic is held in collaboration with the Milwaukee Health Department Office of Violence Prevention and Families Moving Forward Milwaukee.
The purpose of the rally is to help promote peace and unity in the community and put an end to needless violence that robs the city of so many innocent lives each year. Pictured at the rally are Congresswoman Gwen Moore (back row, center) with children who have lost family members to violence here in Milwaukee.
