On Thursday, July 7, 2022, MENTOR Greater Milwaukee (MGM) held their first mentor meeting with their Youth Ambassadors at Sam’s Place Jazz Cafe, 3338 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dr. All the young men in attendance are students associated with the Department of Black and Latino Male Achievement Program with Milwaukee Public School (MPS). They are also summer employees through the city’s Earn and Learn Program. They are being trained in how to use youth voice to advocate for themselves and other young people. They are also mentoring other young people during the week to support them and teach them how to use their voice as well. MGM is an affiliate of MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership. MGM is an advocate for the expansion of quality mentoring in metro Milwaukee and a resource for mentors and mentoring initiatives.
