
Horicon Bank commemorated the legacy of Ardie and Wilbur Halyard during Women’s History Month, recognizing their pioneering efforts in empowering African American families with generational wealth through homeownership a century ago by founding Columbia Savings & Loan Association (CSL) during a celebration on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 attended by area community and business leaders. In recognition of Columbia Savings & Loan’s 100th anniversary and sharing the dedication to building stronger and financially healthy communities in Milwaukee, Horicon Bank’s leadership and board presented Columbia Savings & Loan Association with a $250,000 check to support their commitment to upholding the Halyards’ legacy and raising $10-million to assist 100 families in achieving their dream of homeownership.
