On Tuesday, March 19, 2025, the Milwaukee Alumni Chapter of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UNPB) and Greater New Birth Church located at 8237 W. Silver Spring Dr., hosted the university’s renowned Vesper Choir at a public performance. The Vesper Choir is under the direction of Jerron A. Liddell.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vesper Choir is internationally recognized among historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) for its diverse repertoire and excellent performances. This ensemble was founded in 1946 by Professor Ariel Lovelace and conducted for more than 40 years by Professor Shelton J. McGee. The Choir entered a new era in 2018 under the direction of UAPB Vesper Choir alumnus, Mr. Jerron A. Liddell. His appointment makes him the fourth director in the choir’s 78-year history.
