On Saturday, September 24, 2022, E’loron #99 Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness Resource Center, Inc., hosted its “1st Annual Black Tie Gala Fundraiser,” at Aria Banquet Hall, 5444 W. Fond Du Lac Ave. The event was a fundraiser to help raise awareness of sickle cell anemia and help raise funds for the resource center to continue to spread awareness of an illness that affects millions of people worldwide. The theme for the evening was,“Fighting for You (Exodus 14:14a)”; and the keynote speaker was Dr. Stephanie Findley, Board Vice-Chair for the non-profit corporation The Findley Foundation, Inc. E’loron was founded by Bennie J. Morris, Sr., after losing his oldest sister, Lola in 1993 and his youngest brother, Aaron in 2019, both to sickle cell. Pictured at the event are (from left) E’loron #99 Founder and CEO Bennie J. Morris Sr.; Elizabeth Small; and Bishop John P. James.
