Five MPS schools receive music education grants from Summerfest Foundation Inc.
Five schools from Milwaukee Public Schools shared in $25,000 in music education grants awarded by the Summerfest Foundation Inc. The five MPS schools and their grants received are:
• Clement Avenue School – $4,000
• Wisconsin Conservatory of Lifelong Learning – $3,500
• ALBA (Academia de Lenguaje y Bellas Artes) – $3,000
• Richard Kluge School – $2,500
• Golda Meir School – $2,000 The Summerfest Foundation Inc., grants are awarded to enh,ance opportunities for students who may have no exposure to instrumental music or those who may require advanced instruction, which is currently unavailable to them.
Music education is part of an effort to redefine the MPS experience by offering students a variety of extracurricular and expanded academic opportunities.
The Summerfest Foundation Inc. supports initiatives of Milwaukee World Festival Inc., which include charitable and educational purposes, and providing a showcase for the performing arts.
